ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – This summer, the Bonifas Arts Center is giving kids an opportunity to unleash their creativity.
Every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00, the Bonifas is hosting Art at the Marketplace. Children can visit four stations, each with a unique art project or craft. The activities are self-guided, but an instructor and volunteers are on hand to assist when needed.
“It’s great to keep the younger people engaged during the summer when they’re out of school and kind of keep those wheels turning,” said Bonifas Education Coordinator Noah Johnson. “Art’s a great way to do that. You get to be creative, and you get to be semi-outside. It is kindergarten to fifth grade, but we’re not checking IDs, so you can bring anybody. We just want everyone to have a really great time.”
Art at the Marketplace is free to attend and sponsored by the Escanaba Downtown Development Authority. No preregistration is required, but families are asked to sign in when they arrive. Art at the Marketplace continues through August 18.
The Escanaba Marketplace is located at the corner of Ludington Street and 15th Street. Click here to see the Bonifas Arts Center’s full calendar of summer events.
