NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A sweet way to spend a summer afternoon in Negaunee – antique cars and ice cream at the local history museum.
The Negaunee Historical Society hosted its annual antique car show and ice cream social, drawing community members of all ages to browse classic Model A’s and take in a slice of local history. The event doubles as an open invitation to explore the museum and everything inside.
Board member Donna Bjork says it’s a tradition that keeps people coming back. “With everything we have in the museum, you can come and take a look a variety of interesting things. You can get a little slice of Negaunee history, and then maybe come back on a different day when you can just take your time and look at everything,” says Bjork. “It’s just a good community event, it’s fun to see everyone, and we see a lot of people year after year.”
The antique car show is just one of many events happening this week as part of Pioneer Days, Negaunee’s annual multi-day summer celebration running through July 11th.
