ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The festivities include a parade through downtown, live music, food vendors, games, and activities for all ages. The evening wraps up with a fireworks display lighting up the sky over Al Quaal Recreation Area. City officials say they expect large crowds and encourage visitors to arrive early to find parking and enjoy a full day of Fourth of July fun. The Fourth of July can be a loud holiday; however, this year, a section of the parade will be designated as sensory-friendly, giving parade-goers a quieter experience.
Well, we really thought it was important to have that sensory friendly zone. We’ve been hearing about it a lot, people asking for it, so we decided to deliver this year. This is new, so please bear with us and give us feedback after. We’d love to hear all about it,” said celebration organizer Krystan Beaumont.
Beaumont says they are still in need of volunteers to help out in any way you can. They have volunteer opportunities available everywhere throughout the celebration. To learn more about how you can volunteer, please visit https://ishpeming4th.com/
