CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – One person was injured in a multiple-vehicle crash on Friday.
Around 9:45 a.m., Chocolay Township Police officers were dispatched to a crash on US-41 South near Snyder’s Drugstore. Upon arrival, officers learned that four vehicles were involved. They stopped northbound traffic until additional responders arrived from the Chocolay Township Fire Department, the DNR Law Enforcement Division, Marquette City Police, and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
Police investigation found that a black Toyota pickup had exited the Snyder’s driveway, turning south onto US-41. The Toyota struck a black GMC Pickup that was pulling a trailer. The Toyota entered oncoming traffic, where it struck a box truck travelling north. The Toyota then struck a northbound motorhome, causing substantial damage to both vehicles.
One male was transported to UPHS for non-life-threatening injuries. Chocolay Township Police thank all the bystanders who stopped to render aid and check on the involved parties, as well as the assisting agencies.
