MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Michigan State Police (MSP) officials have provided new information regarding a shooting and subsequent police chase.
On June 2, MSP troopers were on the lookout for 31-year-old Trevor Caponcello Restivo, who had fled the scene after a shooting at a Marquette apartment. After being spotted by a trooper, Restivo drove at a high rate of speed into diesel fuel pumps at a Negaunee gas station. The crash caused the vehicle and pumps to catch fire. He exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.
Restivo was arraigned on June 5 on the following charges:
– One count of Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer Second Degree
– Two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder
– One count of Weapons-Firearms: Discharge in or at a Building Causing Serious Impairment
– One count of Weapons-Firearms: Discharge in or at a Building Causing Injury
– Four counts of Felony Firearm
– One count of Interfering with Electronic Communications Causing Injury or Death
The total bond for the combined charges was set at $1,350,000 cash/surety. Restivo is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause conference on June 11, followed by a preliminary examination on June 18.
