CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Upper Peninsula police department was able to assist in a missing persons case out of Wisconsin.
On July 16, the Wisconsin Department of Justice issued a Silver Alert for a missing Green Bay man, 74-year-old Gary Eicher. According to the Michigan State Police, Eicher’s vehicle was seen that morning in Calumet, Michigan.
Just after 8:30 that evening, the Chocolay Township Police Department was called to help a stranded motorist. The responding officer identified the driver as Eicher and contacted Wisconsin authorities. Eicher was transported to UPHS for care and is awaiting reunification with his family.
Chocolay Township Police thank the passerby who stopped to check on Eicher and called 911. Chocolay Township Police were also assisted by UPHS-Marquette EMS and Goodwins Towing.
