KIPLING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to be aware of unsafe ice conditions on Little Bay de Noc.
On the evening of March 13, the Sheriff’s Office and personnel from multiple agencies responded to three separate ice rescue incidents. According to a department Facebook post, a total of six individuals went through the ice on ATVs.
All three incidents occurred off of the Red Gate in Kipling. During the rescue, responders observed open water and “very unsafe” ice conditions in the area. They say with continued warm weather, conditions have been degrading rapidly.
