FORD RIVER, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Ford River man has been arraigned on multiple charges after a domestic assault prompted a multi-agency law enforcement response on Wednesday.
At 4:15 p.m., the Delta County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Ford River for a possible domestic assault. Deputies arrived within five minutes and made contact with an injured victim, who was transported to OSF.
The suspect, James Dahl, had called stating that he was suicidal and had guns. Deputies contacted the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team for assistance.
Because the scene was in close proximity to M-35, traffic was rerouted. The ES Team arrived on scene and cleared the residence. Dahl was later found at a different residence.
Dahl was arrested and lodged at the Delta County Jail without incident. He was arraigned on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and interfering with electronic communications. His bond was set at $25,000.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Escanaba Public Safety, the Ford River Fire Department, and Mobile Medical Response
