FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A missing juvenile was found safe thanks to a multi-agency effort.
On the evening of September 16, Forsyth Township Police and Emergency Services were dispatched to the area of County Road 456 and Setter Drive, where a six-year-old girl had been reported missing. She and her family’s dogs had not returned home after going outside to play.
Forsyth Township Police, Fire, & EMS and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division formed a search team. The Michigan State Police Negaunee Post, Gladstone Post, TST Unit, and Aviation Unit, Marquette County Central Dispatch, and community members joined the family in searching the area.
After several hours of searching, a team member received a call from a relative, who was alerted to movement on his trail camera. That camera was located roughly half a mile south of the spot where the girl had gone missing. The trail camera captured a positive image of her.
Search teams were then directed to an area near Ski Hill Road. The girl was located in a short period of time, and she was determined to be in good health. The search teams returned her to her family.
Forsyth Township Police and Emergency Services personnel thank the agencies, community members, and family members who worked together to get the missing girl back home.
