CALUMET, Mich. (WZMQ) – Community members will gather to honor Big Annie Clemenc’s life, legacy, and lasting influence on the labor movement at the statue unveiling.
WHO: Michigan’s labor movement, including the Upper Peninsula Regional Labor Federation and its members, community groups, and residents.
WHAT: Michigan’s labor movement invites all members and families to join in the unveiling of the Big Annie Clemenc statue organized by Team Big Annie and the Keweenaw Community Foundation. The event will feature a community parade down 5th Street, live music, and a dedication ceremony to honor the heroic history of the labor movement and Big Annie’s leadership of the 1913 Copper Strike.
