MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Local police are looking into an unwitnessed death.
Around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, the Marquette Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of an unresponsive male on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail near Wilson Street. Upon arrival, officers were directed down an embankment just south of the path, where they found the man still unresponsive.
Resuscitation efforts were attempted, but the man was eventually pronounced dead. MPD has launched an active investigation into the incident.
The Marquette City Fire Department and UPHS – Marquette EMS assisted MPD at the scene.
