NEWBERRY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be making emergency repairs to an M-28 culvert west of Shelter Bay, Alger County, requiring a lane closure beginning Tuesday, July 28.
Temporary work will repair damage near the culvert until it can be replaced next year. Motorists should expect one alternating lane of traffic near the culvert using a temporary traffic signal. The lane closure is expected to be in place until plans for emergency repairs can be developed and implemented.
More information on the repair schedule will be released when it becomes available. MDOT states that closing the lane is necessary to keep motorists safe and to prevent further damage to the roadway.
