DICKINSON COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 42-year-old Iron Mountain man has been extradited to Dickinson County from Ketchikan, Alaska, after being charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
On December 23, 2025, allegations of criminal sexual conduct were reported to the Michigan State Police (MSP) Iron Mountain Post. Following an investigation, the Dickinson County Prosecutor authorized felony charges against Cory Conn of Iron Mountain for one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct (person under 13) and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Prior to the charges being filed, Conn fled to Alaska. After the charges were authorized, he was located in Ketchikan, Alaska, and arrested. Through the coordinated efforts of the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team, the MSP Traverse City Post, and the MSP Iron Mountain Post, he was extradited from Alaska to Dickinson County and lodged in the Dickinson County Jail.
Conn was arraigned on July 10, 2026. His bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety, and he is scheduled to appear in court again on July 20.
The criminal sexual conduct charges are unrelated to charges Conn faced in February of 2025, when he was arrested for possession of weapons and/or ammunition by a prohibited person. He was also arraigned on charges relating to pointing a laser light at airplanes as they landed at the Ford Airport.
The MSP Iron Mountain Post thanks those who assisted with the criminal sexual conduct investigation, including the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team, the MSP Traverse City Post, the Ketchikan (AK) District Attorney’s Office, and assisting Alaska law enforcement agencies.
