NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The City of Negaunee is looking keep its community updated as planning continues for the future of the Vista Theater.
Along with the removal of the theater’s marquee this week, the city has added a page to its website, detailing the building’s history, photos, and timeline for the future. The page also has information on the necessary funding gap of $1.6 million still needed for the revitalization project.
Planning will continue through the summer, but its next steps will highly depend on these community funds.
“The construction plan should be fully completed into September and we’re hoping to go to bid sometime early October,” said Negaunee City Planning and Zoning Administrator, David Nelson. “That’s all going to depend on that finding gap we’re actively trying to fundraise for.”
