NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Additional funding is coming to the Negaunee Ice Arena.
Voters passed a bond of up to $1.25 million on the May 5 ballot to fund major repairs and upgrades to their aging ice arena. It’s roughly 40 years old, and key systems, especially the chiller or ice-making system, are failing and at the end of their life span, putting the facility at risk of shutting down.
The proposal passed with a final vote of 747 to 309.
