QUINNESEC, Mich. (WZMQ) – A man is in jail and facing charges after the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says he crashed his car into a gas station and ran from police.
IMPD says during the evening on Jan. 30, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit that led to the suspect car crashing into the Quinnesec LaFave BP gas station. The driver was uninjured, but the gas station was damaged.
The driver then fled on foot but was eventually arrested by deputies.
The driver was ledged at the Dickinson County Correctional Facility. His name is withheld pending arraignment. The incident still remains under investigation, though alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the incident by Iron Mountain Police Department and Kingsford Public Safety.
