Independence Day fireworks and celebrations around the U.P.

UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WZMQ) – WZMQ has compiled a list of fireworks displays around the Upper Peninsula and the times that they will be starting.
(Note: all times are for fireworks unless otherwise noted as some towns are having parades or other celebrations but not fireworks.)

  • June 29th:
  • Trenary — 10:45 p.m.

July 3rd:

  • Lake Linden — 11 p.m.
  • Les Cheneaux Islands — Dusk
  • Marquette — Dusk
  • Michigamme — Dusk
  • Wakefield — 10 p.m.

July 4th:

  • Ahmeek — (Parade) 11 a.m.
  • Alpha
  • Baraga — Dusk
  • Bessemer — 10 p.m.
  • Copper Harbor
  • Dollar Bay — (Parade) 12 noon
  • Drummond Island — Dusk
  • Gay — (Bazaar)
  • Gladstone — Dusk
  • Gwinn – Dusk
  • Hubbell — (Parade)
  • Iron Mountain/Kingsford – (Parade) 9 a.m., Fireworks dusk
  • Iron River — Dusk

City of Escanaba cancels fireworks due to weather concerns

July 10, 2025
The owners of Iron Mountain's Trump Tower, hosted a fireworks display this evening at the site. This evenings fireworks were in honor of Veterans Day, but had to be postponed until tonight due to high winds yesterday. The fireworks were provided by pyrotechnics professionals Spread Eagle Fireworks. The show was made possible after the Iron Mountain City Council approved a fireworks permit at a special meeting held yesterday. The tower's owner Dan Rittenhouse was proud to honor our veterans.
