ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Festival of Treasures brought vendors and shoppers to downtown Ishpeming this afternoon as part of Old Ish Days.
The annual event filled the streets with handmade goods, local art, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind finds… From freeze dried candy and knitted treats to hand-carved gas canisters and unique rock clocks made right here in the U.P.
Vendor James Hill traveled out to share his collection of gemstones and handcrafted timepieces, and says events like this are worth every bit of the effort. “I really appreciate the Festival of Treasures, it brings out a lot of different crafters and people who have something they want to sell,” says Hill. “It’s near the Fourth of July, it’s a perfect day, beautiful day for doing this, and I think it brings the community together.”
The Festival of Treasures is one of several events leading up to tomorrows Fourth of July parade and fireworks in Ishpeming.
