STONINGTON, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: The Delta County Sheriff’s Office has recovered the body of the missing kayaker off Little Bay de Noc. Deputies located the man’s body around 1 p.m. Tuesday in approximately 14 feet of water.
DCSO will release more details in a press release Wednesday.

Delta County search and rescue crews are continuing to search for a missing kayaker.
According to a Facebook post by the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Stonington area for a report of a missing kayaker on Sunday, May 5, at 7:03 p.m. The 29-year-old male from Lower Michigan was kayaking alone in Little Bay De Noc off of Stonington and had not returned.
Search crews were dispatched and the water and land were extensively searched into the night. At around 2:00 a.m., the Kayak was located floating upside down about half a mile offshore. Search crews continued searching all day on Monday.
Crews will continue searching again on Tuesday, May 7. WZMQ 19 will update this story as more information becomes available.
