MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A local nonprofit is recognizing the developments it’s made in the Marquette community. At the Northern Center this evening, the Lake Superior Community Partnership hosted its annual dinner which was themed “The Great Outdoors”.
Representatives from a variety of partners were recognized at the event, presenting two Distinguished Service Awards to J.M. Longyear and Carol Fulscher for their continued efforts in the UP’s outdoor recreation.
A silent auction, raffles, and a menu inspired by the outdoors, and even gifting each table with a tree to take with them. “The core of everything we do at the LSCP is networking all of our greatest ideas from business development to community development to everything in between has come out of a conversation,” commented Lake Superior Community Partnership CEO Christopher Germain.
“You’ve gotta be adapting to the changes and the business in the community environment just at the time I’ve been at long-year it’s changed dramatically,” commented J.M. Longyear Manager Jason Povey.
“A lot of people in this community have big hearts and want to do good by other people, just find what your niche is and just go for it just do it,” commented Award Recipient Carol Fulscher.
Along with a welcoming atmosphere, the LSCP commented that these events also help connect new developers get familiar with the industries in the UP.
