MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Some Marquette residents had the chance to honor a special Woman in their life Thursday night during a ceremony at Clark Lambros beach in Marquette.
Names of mothers, daughters, sisters, and many more were painted on rocks and laid into a heart shaped pattern.
The ceremony was a part of Marquettes Art Week and gave attendees the chance to put the spotlight on a woman who has impacted their life in a positive way. Singers from Marquette Senior High’s chorus were in attendance and gave a performance to highlight women.
“We talked about honoring women in public art, and how do we honor women publicly,” remarked Tiina Moorin, Marquette’s Art and Culture Manager.
Art Week continues Friday with a discussion at noon at Father Marquette park.
