It was a weekend of celebration for college grads.
Both Northern Michigan University (NMU) and Michigan Tech held their commencement ceremonies Saturday to celebrate the graduating seniors.
At NMU’s graduation Saturday morning inside the Superior Dome on campus, about 850 graduates participated in the commencement, with 61 graduating with the highest of honors.
The top undergrad programs this year coming out of NMU were biology, nursing, art and design, medical plant chemistry and criminal justice.
While most of NMU’s grads are from Michigan, other graduates hail from 28 other states including Pennsylvania, Arizona, California and even Hawaii.
