Marquette, Mich. (WZMQ) – The popularity of e-bikes has been growing exponentially over the last several years, however e-bikes are still a mystery to some people that have never tried one. lakeshore bikes in Marquette is offering free demo rides on their full line of pedal assist bicycles. e-bikes popularity comes from their ability to tackle hills with ease, counteract headwinds and being able to keep up with more experienced bikers. lakeshore bikes demo program will put you on an e-bike that best suits your riding ability. all of their e-bikes are class 1 bikes which means they have no throttle, are pedal assist only and have a maximum speed of around 20 miles per hour. co-owner Jacob Douglas believes e-bikes opens up a whole new experience where age, physical fitness, and riding experience don’t matter as much, allowing for more fun.
“We see a lot more people, maybe elderly people that you know, used to love riding that can’t ride as much anymore. Those people get on these e bikes and they’re riding up to, you know, 15 miles up to Ishpeming and Negaunee and they’re coming back home and they’re loving every minute of it and they’re still able to get out there and enjoy what they used to do.” Said Douglas.
lakeshore bikes free demo days runs until Saturday. appointments are requested and can be made over the phone. you can find lakeshore bikes at 505 north lakeshore Blvd. in Marquette.
