MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Menominee Township man is in custody after utilizing a firearm during a dispute about grass cutting.
On July 25, deputies from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence for a report of an individual shooting at another person during an argument about cutting grass. After investigating the incident, a search warrant was executed.
57-year-old Anthony Raymond Mech was arrested and arraigned on charges of assault with intent to commit murder, felony firearms, felon in possession of firearms, and felon in possession of ammunition. Mech has been lodged in the Menominee County Jail on a cash/surety bond.
The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Menominee Police Department, the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and Menominee County 911.
