NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Pioneer Days saved the best for last today in Negaunee. Hundreds packed the streets downtown for the annual parade – floats, fire trucks, and enough candy to keep kids busy for a week.
The crowd stretched down Iron Street as the procession wound through the heart of the city, with waves, cheers, hot-rods, fire trucks, and even an appearance from Santa, trading in his winter coat for a breezy summer shirt. After the parade wrapped up, the party moved to Old Town Park for live music, food trucks, and a beer tent through the evening.
As the sun goes down tonight over Teal Lake, so too will fireworks, as a perfect send-off to a week that brought the community together in U.P. fashion.
