GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – A man has been arraigned on charges of possession of methamphetamine following his arrest by the Michigan State Police (MSP) Wakefield Post.
On June 26, 2025, a Wakefield Post trooper on patrol spotted a subject known to have a revoked driver’s license operating a vehicle on Hemlock Street. The trooper activated his patrol car’s emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop of the vehicle, which was very slow to stop. The vehicle came to an eventual slow-rolling stop on West Ayer Street near King Street, approximately 300 feet from the Iron Belle Trail.
The trooper found suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle. The suspect was placed under arrest and lodged in the Gogebic County Jail.
On June 27, 35-year-old Andrew Mills was arraigned in the Bessemer 98th District Court on multiple charges, including one count of methamphetamine possession, one count of possessing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a park, and one count of operating with a revoked license. His bond was set at $50,000 (10 percent allowed) with conditions.
MSP was assisted by the Ironwood Public Safety Department, the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
