IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE Nov. 6: Police have identified the Iron Mountain woman who made threats against a local bank.

Heather Dabb, 40, was arraigned Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Dickinson County’s 95th District Court on one count of False Report of Threat of Terrorism, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.

Dabb’s bond was set at $50,000.

Original story Nov. 4, 2024:

Iron Mountain police are investigating bombing and shooting threats at the First National Bank on Monday.

The Iron Mountain Police Department says around 10 a.m., officers were notified of the threats and immediately dispatched to the bank. The bank was safely evacuated, and lockdown protocols were activated across all branches.

A 40-year-old woman, whose name has not been released pending arraignment, has been arrested in connection to the incident of charges of terroristic threats and improper use of a telecommunications device.

IMPD is working with First National Bank’s security personnel and management to ensure safety of employees and customers. As part of the investigation, anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Iron Mountain Police Department at 906-774-1234. All tips will be confidential.

Increased police presence has been noted at other FNB locations, including the Kingsford and South branch offices.

IMPD says it takes all threats seriously. IMPD was assisted by the Kingsford Department of Public Safety, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department and Dispatch Center, Michigan State Police, and the FBI- Marquette.
