ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Italian American Mutual Aid Society of St. Rocco and St. Anthony of Padua’s 125th annual Italian Fest is on Saturday at Al Quaal recreation area in Ishpeming.
The festival will feature Italian food, live music, and games for kids of all ages.
This year for the 125th anniversary, the festival will also include a fireworks display at dusk.
Jim Bertucci, the club president, said the festival is a family picnic for the whole community.
“Our group really focuses on the family event,” said Bertucci. “We want the kids to come and enjoy themselves and the parents to enjoy themselves, and it’s just more of a community picnic.”
The festival begins at noon, and if you want to try the famous Italian Fest Meatballs, Bertucci said they usually run out quick, so come early.
