ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – A century of community – St. Joseph’s Church Guild marked a major milestone Saturday.
The Guild held its 100th annual Fall Bazaar at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church – featuring basket drawings, a silent auction, bake sale, white elephant sale, books, and a luncheon. The event has been a community staple for a hundred years running, surviving everything including a pandemic. Funds raised go back into the community through programs like school backpacks, food pantry support at the Salvation Army and St. Vincent De Paul, and various church projects.
Guild President Ann Trudell says reaching this milestone feels unlike anything else. “It’s epic, epic to know that we are apart of a century long tradition,” says Trudell. “We’ve kept going even through covid. It’s like I say, quite an experience, and the whole community seems to be embracing it.”
One hundred years of giving back – and the St. Joseph’s Church Guild shows no signs of slowing down.
