GWINN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Following the narrow defeat of the most recent Gwinn Area Community Schools bond proposal, district leaders are now looking at what comes next.
Superintendent Dr. Sara Croney says the proposal failed by just 14 votes, with 2,350 voting yes and 2,364 voting no.
Croney said in a letter to the staff that the facility, infrastructure, and educational needs identified in the proposal still remain.
The board of education, district leadership, and a citizens’ committee will now evaluate options and develop a plan moving forward.
She says the district’s commitment to students remains unchanged.
