GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – This month, Gladstone businesses are participating in a festive contest for fall.
Shops and restaurants within the DDA district are decorating their windows with autumn leaves, pumpkins, Halloween characters, and other seasonal designs.
“The purpose of this event is really to bring people downtown and help bring our downtown to life for every holiday,” said DDA Director Patricia West.
Community members are encouraged to vote for their favorite windows on the City’s website. The final day of voting will be Sunday, October 25, as part of the inaugural Great Gladstone Harvest Festival.
“This [trophy] is the prize that everybody is vying for,” West said. “We’ll have first, second, and third place, but more than anything, it will likely be bragging rights in the downtown.”
The Great Gladstone Harvest Festival will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a farmers market, a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, and other fall-themed activities. Costumes are welcome. Window contest winners will be announced the following week.
