NORWAY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Norway’s Leif Erikson Festival returns for its 34th year next weekend.
All-day festivities will feature its annual parade, pageant contest, live music, Leif’s Run, and plenty of Viking re-enactments.
Local businesses and community organizations will also take part in the fun, celebrating Norwegian and Swedish history with unique dishes and demonstrations. The event is free and family-friendly, welcoming all kinds of Viking attire.
Downtown Norway Coordinator Kenzie Williamsen says this style will fit right in with the fall season.
“Viking furs are a big one, with it being in the fall, you’ll probably want a couple of layers,” she explained. “For the women, it’s usually a long dress over top of a longsleeve and pants, it works really well in this weather.”
