MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPAWS is offering a limited number of discounted microchips for pet owners around Marquette County.
As of September 1, in collaboration with the shelter’s main supplier of the devices 24PetWatch, up to 50 residents can schedule an appointment for one discounted price per household while supplies last, at a first-come-first-serve basis.
The procedure will cost only $10, compared to UPAWS’ regular fee of $35 and can be applied to dogs, cats, and rabbits over eight weeks of age.
“What a wonderful way to help the community get their animals microchipped,” said UPAWS Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator Ann Brownell. “We had 50 to start with and we’re already booked out for the next two weeks.”
Microchip apointments are held twice a day from Tuesdays through Fridays, and can be scheduled by phone or online.
