KINGSFORD, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Kingsford home is a total loss following a fire Tuesday afternoon.
Kingsford Public Safety was called to a garage fire on Withworth Avenue around 2:23 p.m. on August 18th.
When firefighters arrived, the garage was fully engulfed, with fire also spreading into the attached home.
Because of the close proximity of a neighboring house, the fire spread to additional structures. The neighboring residence suffered significant smoke and water damage, along with interior fire damage.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation and was taken to Marshfield Medical Center-Dickson for treatment.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters remained on scene until about 7:30 p.m. Several area agencies assisted with the response.
