ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Escanaba’s Municipal Marina is gearing up for an annual live music event.
The Municipal Marina and the Escanaba DDA will host Marina Fest 2026 on Saturday, July 25, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Four local bands will perform throughout the day, playing a variety of rock classics, bluegrass, jazz, and the blues.
According to City of Escanaba Harbormaster and Recreation Director Kim Peterson, the marina experienced a slow start to the summer compared to previous years. However, business is currently picking up, and Marina Fest always draws extra foot traffic to the area.
“We have a lot of walkers, we have a lot of people that come by, but to physically stay here for a couple hours to check out our amenities, it’s a nice day for the marina,” Peterson said. “They walk the docks; they look at the boats. They’ll ask a lot of questions, which is good. We want people to come out and ask that stuff. It’s just a fun day that the community can come out and enjoy the waterfront.”
This year’s Marina Fest performers are Lorne Watson & The Jazz Brigade, Kind of Blues, Chasin’ Steel, and Flat Broke Blues Band. Food vendors will be on site. A tent will be set up near the stage, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the show. For additional information, click here.
