NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A friendly listener visited the Negaunee Public Library this Friday morning.
Blush is happy yellow lab who assists Library Director Jessica Holman’s father, Joe. As a part of the NPL summer reading program, the library welcomes Blush every other Friday morning at 11, to allow kids and families to meet with her and read to her.
Joe Holman says she works as a ‘social interactor’ for him, and has been especially active this week during the Pioneer Days festivities.
“The more I’m involved in things, the more she’s involved,” he said. “With Pioneer Days, she’s been going pretty much everywhere and doing everything. The reading is always enjoyable for her and enjoyable for me to watch the kids interact with her.”
You can meet Blush the service dog again on Friday, July 24. The library will also hold a similar reading event with Superiorland Pet Partners on Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m.
