GWINN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Thousands packed Peter Nordeen Park this afternoon for a Gwinn tradition.
The Gwinn Lions Club hosted its annual Fun Daze – a day-long celebration kicking off summer with a parade, antique motor show, live music, craft and food vendors, and activities for kids and adults alike. The event also doubles as a fundraiser, helping support the Lions Club and the communities it serves.
Club President Steve Finley says after years of quieter turnout, this year felt different. “When you have an event like this, people come out,” says Finley. “People have not been showing up like this, for community events, for a long time. So now all of a sudden people are here, and they’re able to talk to one another and they may meet a whole new set of friends. That’s what we love about this.”
Gwinn Fun Daze returns every June, bringing together not just Gwinn, but communities from across the region.
