ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Chamber of Commerce is celebrating more than three decades of supporting local businesses.
On Thursday, the Chamber held its 33rd Annual Golf Classic at the Escanaba Country Club. It was a chance for members to connect with community leaders and network with other professionals while enjoying a round of golf, food, drinks, and prizes.
“It’s always a great community event,” said Chamber Board Member Ed Legault. “We have great sponsors throughout the community. [Executive Director] Vickie Micheau and [Associate Director] Sheila Krueger do an absolutely fabulous job in the planning aspect, and Vickie always makes sure we have Chamber weather for the event!”
According to Legault, the business community always shows up for the Golf Classic in a big way. This year, more than 30 teams made their way through the course.
“I think it gives us feedback that we’re doing the right things,” said Legault, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Delta County Economic Development Alliance. “If we weren’t, we wouldn’t get that type of community support. It’s so refreshing because people really, really look forward to this event, and we do as well. It’s a fun event, and we look forward to seeing everyone.”
Proceeds from the event will help the Chamber continue to invest in Delta County businesses. For information on becoming a member of the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, visit deltami.org.
