Nine home matches for Huskies

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech volleyball team announced its 2026 schedule on Monday (May 11). Under second-year head coach Cindy Pindral, the Huskies will play 27 matches in the fall with 16 GLIAC contests and nine games at the SDC Gym. Opponents Ferris State, St. Cloud, UCCS, and Wayne State went to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Tech begins the season with the UP North Tournament, and the 2026 edition will be hosted in the Upper Peninsula. Minnesota Duluth is the season and home-opening opponent on Aug. 27 before Tech travels to Marquette to play Cal State East Bay and St. Cloud State on Aug. 28. The weekend wraps up against Winona State on Aug. 29 at Vandament Arena.

The Huskies travel to Colorado the following weekend to play Coach Pindral’s alma mater, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Sept. 3. St. Edwards and South Dakota Mines are the opponents on Sept. 4, and the trip out west wraps up against Midwestern State on Sept. 5.

The GLIAC portion of the schedule gets underway the following weekend with a pair of road matches at Davenport (Sept. 11) and Saginaw Valley State (Sept. 12). Tech then hosts Ferris State (Sept. 18) and Davenport (Sept. 19) at the SDC Gym, where it will also be Alumni Weekend. September wraps up with a trip to Northern Michigan (Sept. 22) and Wayne State (Sept. 25).

The Black and Gold return home to host Lake Superior State on Oct. 2, which is Little Huskies Night. Family Weekend wraps up against Purdue Northwest (Oct. 3) on Saturday. The Huskies head south to Parkside (Oct. 9) and have a rematch with PNW (Oct. 10) before the annual Midwest Region Crossover Tournament on Oct. 16-17 in Hammond, Ind. Tech will play three non-conference opponents at the 18th annual tournament.

The Huskies travel to Grand Valley State (Oct. 23) and Roosevelt (Oct. 24) in their return to conference play. The regular season ends with four straight home matches. Wayne State (Oct. 30) and GVSU (Oct. 31) come to the SDC Gym, followed by rival NMU (Nov. 3) and then Roosevelt (Nov. 7) in the regular season finale.

The postseason begins with the GLIAC Tournament on Nov. 11 at the top four seeds.
