Minnesota State is Winter Carnival opponent
HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech hockey program announced its 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday (May 12) in conjunction with the CCHA unveiling its composite schedule. The Huskies have 34 regular-season games that include 26 CCHA games, 16 contests at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena, and eight non-conference meetings.
After a 14-year hiatus, the Minnesota Golden Gophers return to the Mac for the season and home-opening series on Oct. 2-3. Tech hits the road to St. Cloud State the following weekend (Oct. 9-10). The Alaska Nanooks travel to Houghton on Oct. 16-17 on Michigan Tech Sports Hall of Fame weekend. The CCHA-opener for the Huskies is Oct. 23-24 at Ferris State to wrap up the first month of the season.
The Huskies host Augustana on Nov. 6-7 and Lake Superior State on Nov. 13-14. November ends with a road trip to Minnesota State on Nov. 20-21.
Tech plays archrival Northern Michigan on Dec. 4-5 with Friday’s game in Marquette and Saturday’s contest in Houghton. The Huskies travel to Bemidji State on the following weekend (Dec. 11-12) to wrap up the pre-Holiday schedule.
Opponents for the 60th Great Lakes Invitational and future tournaments at Van Andel Arena will be announced soon.
Conference play resumes on Jan. 8-9 at Augustana. The Huskies then have an 8-game stretch of games in the Upper Peninsula. Ferris State visits the Mac on Jan. 15-16.
The Huskies and Wildcats meet again on January 22-23 with Friday’s game in Houghton. January wraps up at Lake Superior State (Jan. 29-30).
Minnesota State will be the 2027 Winter Carnival opponent on Feb. 5-6. The final road trip of the season is to Bowling Green (Feb. 19-20), and the regular season wraps up at home against Bemidji State (Feb. 26-27).
The top four teams after the regular season will host the opening round of the CCHA Mason Cup Playoffs on March 5-7 with a best-of-three series. The CCHA semifinals will be on March 13, with the CCHA Mason Cup Championship Game taking place the following weekend.
The NCAA Tournament opens play on March 25 with regional sites in Loveland, Colo., Bridgeport, Conn., Springfield, Mass., and Fargo, ND. The 2027 Frozen Four will be staged at Capital One Arena in Washington DC on April 8 and 10.
All CCHA and home non-conference games will be streamed on Midco Sports Plus.
