MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Tuesday evening, the Marquette City Planning Commission approved the construction of a new GMC dealership location.
Last year, the commission turned down an initial proposal from a related consulting firm due to budgeting and site plan review constraints. After a year of re-zoning and meeting further standards from the board, the planning commission passed the renewed proposal uncontested, 7-0.
“Over that time their building changed in size and in parking, it’s going to be a little bit bigger than it was initially intended. They went through and met with site plan review again, so we passed it,” said Board Chair, Kevin Clegg.
The new location will replace the current home of Marquette GMC to a lot across US-41. The dealership will be located at 1101 W US-41 in Marquette.
