MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Northern Michigan University is wrapping up another winter semester. By the second half of finals week, a majority of students have already finished their exams and moved out, and those left are still busy studying.
For Freshman Business Major Josh Curtis, his first year of college came to an end Thursday afternoon.
“I got all of my exams done as of an hour ago, the whole year really flew by,” he said.
At the same time, the NMU Barnes & Noble bookstore is seeing a spike in activity, as wildcats return their textbooks, gather what they need for graduation, and bring in their families visiting Marquette.
“This time of year does get really busy, students are returning their rental books,” said Store Manager, Paul Wright. “It’s also graduation time, our end of the year commencement ceremony is our biggest one. Students are getting their caps and gowns, honors cords, and their diploma frames, while bringing in their parents for the last time.”
Roughly 1,200 NMU graduates will walk the stage at the Superior Dome on Saturday May 2, starting at 10:30 a.m. More details and livestream information can be found here.
