MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Part of East Washington Street in Marquette will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, April 29.
Oberstar Inc. will be completing sanitary sewer tap and lateral work in the 100 block of East Washington Street, near the intersection of Washington Street and Lakeshore Boulevard. The work requires a full street closure from Front Street to Lakeshore Boulevard. Work is anticipated to be completed in one day.
The sidewalk on the north side of Washington Street will remain open for pedestrian traffic only. Eastbound vehicular traffic will be detoured south on Front Street to Main Street, east on Main Street to Lakeshore Boulevard, then north on Lakeshore Boulevard.
The public is advised to take caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signage.
