MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Residents in the Marquette area will have a peek at this year’s farmers market this weekend.
The annual Marquette Farmers Market preview will be held on Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Marquette Commons. New and returning vendors will be present to showcase this year’s lineups, while market members can receive their early access pins.
Marquette DDA Farmers Market Manager Brian Shier says the preview provides an opportunity to test the waters of selling at the market, before the season officially begins May 16.
“The preview market is a chance for vendors who are ready to start the season,” he said. “I think we have about 10 to 15 vendors who are going to be there this weekend. Some are reoccurring, some are new, and some are just trying it out to see if this is something they want to do in the future.”
Shier also says this will be a big year for public surveys, as they plan ahead for the next ten years of farmers markets.
