MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – During the month of April, the Peter White Public Library is hosting an inaugural amnesty program.
Currently, the Peter White Public Library has more than 3,000 items classified as Assumed Lost, about 2% of its total collection. Over the next few weeks, any borrowed items that have been long overdue can be returned to the library at no penalty.
Staff says its Back to the Stacks program looks to restore as many of these items as possible, while welcoming back any patrons that have avoided the library and its services due to lost privileges.
“You can bring them back to the library, there’s no questions asked, no need to worry,” said PWPL Communications Coordinator, Mackenzie Geary. “If it’s a situation where you’ve lost an item and you think its gone for good, just stop by the circulation desk and they’ll help you take care of that so you can get back in the library and use our resources here.”
