ALGER COUNTY & ONTONAGON COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Election results are in for Alger County and Ontonagon County.
In Alger County, Grand Island Township voters were asked to approve a millage renewal for fire protection services, as well as a proposal to offset millage rollbacks of the township operating tax levy. Both passed with 100% of the vote.
Two candidates, Christine Berry and Bob Wilkinson, appeared on the ballot for two available Munising City Commission seats. Voters could select up to two candidates. Berry received 41.11% of votes and Wilkinson received 41.14%.
In Ontonagon County, the Ewen-Trout Creek Consolidated School District asked voters to approve a 19.0592-mill operating millage proposal. The proposal passed with 352 votes in favor and 103 votes opposed.
