MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Next week’s Special Election includes two Marquette City Commission seats, with three names on the ballot.
Matthew Luttenberger is a non-partisan candidate running for one of those seats, and the only candidate without a current spot on the commission.
He plans to focus on commercial expansion on the northern side of the city, hoping to bring more of a voice than just from a public comment. After several attempts in previous elections, Luttenberger says it’s been his duty as a citizen to put his name on the ballot as a unanimous option.
“I don’t campaign, this is actually the most in the last seven times that I’ve spoken on record,” he told WZMQ 19 News. “Until you’re sitting on a seat, there’s really nothing more than your public comment. I’m going to take my part in trying to help the city along.”
