GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Friday, Delta County came together for Gladstone’s annual Fourth of July parade.
The National Guard led the parade lineup of 70 organizations, which included law enforcement agencies, local businesses, religious and political groups, and school sports teams. The parade was also filled with performances by the Escanaba City Band, the Gladstone High School Band, and Players de Noc.
For many attendees, the parade has been part of their Independence Day celebrations for years.
“All of our family, we camp in Gladstone every year,” said Gladstone resident Aiden Burie. “It’s kind of a tradition that we come down here with the parade and just be in the park all day long. It’s kind of fun for the Fourth. It’s really great. Everyone loves each other, and everyone just loves being down here for the parade and all the events down here.”
The fun continued all evening in Van Cleve Park with food trucks and live music, leading to a firework show at the pier at dusk.
