DAGGETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Stephenson man was arrested following an assault on Friday, May 2.
According to Sheriff Darrin Kudwa, deputies were dispatched to a residence in Daggett Township around 10:58 p.m. for an unknown disturbance. The disturbance quickly turned into a stabbing in progress. Deputies were then told that the suspect had fled from the scene, heading southbound on foot.
Multiple officers arrived on the scene at 11:01 p.m. They assisted the 24-year-old victim and searched for the suspect. The suspect was located at an adjacent property at 11:19 p.m., and he was detained while the investigation continued. He has been lodged at the Menominee County Jail and formal charges are pending.
The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office says this was an isolated incident that occurred between acquaintances. There is no active threat to the public.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, Mid-County Rescue 114, and Menominee County 911.
