ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – This week, poll workers in Delta County are getting ready to help voters cast their ballots on Election Day.
County Clerk Nancy Przewrocki has been training workers in each precinct on everything they need to know to keep the election running smoothly. Poll workers are learning about proper election etiquette voter, requirements, maintaining an accurate ballot count, operating the tabulators, and how to handle any issues that could arise.
“This is my first time applying for some kind of civic duty,” said Heather Grimes, who will be tending to the polls in Ford River Township. “I just felt like this is the year to step up and do that part. I want to make sure that everybody is getting the proper education, and so I want to educate myself so when I go into the polls, I know exactly what’s going on in the whole process.”
Przewrocki said early voting is off to a strong start in Delta County. According to poll workers, more than 1,000 voters cast their ballots from the start of early voting on Saturday to 1:30 Monday afternoon.
Early voting continues through Sunday, November 3. Delta County residents can cast their ballots at Wells Township Hall, located at 6436 North 8th Street in Wells.
